BLACKBIRD, FAREWELL
This fall, Robert Greer returns with another gripping CJ Floyd mystery, BLACKBIRD, FAREWELL (coming October 14th). Yet for the first time, and in a captivating twist for the series as a whole, CJ himself hardly makes an appearance.
BLACKBIRD, FAREWELL is Damion Madrid's story, and with this novel, he takes his rightful place as CJ's protégé. Just before he is to start medical school, Damion's best friend and basketball star cohort, Shandell "Blackbird" Bird, is murdered after signing a multi-million dollar contract with the Denver Nuggets. News of the high-profile murder of this family friend still reaches CJ, who is honeymooning in Hawaii. But he decides to stay where he is and enjoy this special time, leaving the sleuthing to the professionals. Or so he thinks…. Featuring the vivid characters and streetwise dialogue that have made the CJ Floyd series a critical and commercial success, BLACKBIRD, FAREWELL is a punch-packing whodunit that exposes the dark side of the pro-athlete good life. Set in CJ's familiar stomping ground of Denver and the Front Range, Robert Greer gives fans yet another mystery with relevance to the broader culture that is still a paean to the Western ethos and landscape. And Greer never tells the same story twice. From writing about Vietnam to the assassination of JFK and now professional sports, he keeps readers guessing about what is next for CJ, and now, with new endearing and vibrant characters to follow, what is next for this beloved series as a whole. * * * NEWS FROM ROBERT GREER NEW!
